Founding Full-Stack Engineer
Carma is hiring a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to own product surfaces end-to-end — from ambiguous problem statement to scoped design to shipped enterprise software. Work on a TypeScript end-to-end stack (React, NestJS, PostgreSQL + Prisma, AWS). Ship a feature in the morning; a fleet manager in the field is using it within the hour.
Responsibilities
- - Own product surfaces end-to-end: problem definition → design → shipped to enterprise users
- - Build across the full TypeScript stack: React, NestJS, PostgreSQL + Prisma, AWS
- - Work with messy, adversarial real-world data: telematics streams, OEM recall feeds, vendor invoices, DOT compliance
- - Develop AI agent workflows that automate fleet issue detection and resolution
- - Collaborate directly with the founding team on architecture and product direction
- - Operate in a high-velocity, high-ownership environment with 6 days/week on-site in SF
Benefits & Perks
Requirements
- - Strong TypeScript proficiency across frontend (React) and backend (NestJS)
- - PostgreSQL and AWS experience
- - Experience owning features end-to-end with minimal direction
- - High ownership — comfortable shipping to enterprise users with real stakes
- - Based in San Francisco (onsite 6 days/week)
- - Strong candidates go from first conversation to offer in days
